The National Foundation to End Child Abuse and Neglect (EndCAN) Honors The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) with National Partner Award during Child Abuse Prevention Month

New York City, NY – The National Foundation to End Child Abuse and Neglect (EndCAN) is honoring The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) with the National Partner Award. The award recognizes a national organization for its commitment to the field of child abuse and neglect as demonstrated by collaboration and inclusivity. EndCAN co-founder and Executive Director Lori Poland applauds APSAC’s work in strengthening field professionals and creating opportunities for collaboration. “In the child abuse and neglect field, being siloed is a norm. It is of no surprise that APSAC was decided to be the recipient of this award. Their skill at uniting, educating, and supporting professionals has been instrumental in shifting the field from isolation to collaboration. APSAC and their leaders model what partnership means and are most deserving of being awarded for it. It is such a pleasure to know them and learn from them” says Poland.

APSAC was founded in 1986 and is a nonprofit, national organization focused on meeting the needs of professionals engaged in all aspects of services for maltreated children and their families. Especially important to APSAC is the dissemination of state-of-the-art practice in all professional disciplines related to child abuse and neglect. On October 1, 2016, APSAC partnered with The New York Foundling, whose mission offers an expansive array of services for under-served children, families, and adults with developmental disabilities. The Foundling provides the resources necessary to rebuild lives and rebuild families.     

EndCAN will award APSAC with the National Partner Award at its second annual virtual No Dinner Dinner event taking place on Thursday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. MST.

The theme of EndCAN’s second annual No Dinner Dinner is “Authentic Voices” and celebrates each survivor, supporter, and advocate who has used their voice to call for an end to child abuse and neglect. The evening will be hosted by 9News anchor Ed Greene and will feature music performances, artists, authors, and key figures in the movement to end child abuse and neglect.
